The Sapelo Island Coloring Book
By Abigail West
The Sapelo Island Coloring Book documents places on Sapelo Island, Georgia, that are of cultural, historical, and environmental significance. They have all been hand-drawn, in ink, from my perspective as an artist who has come to Sapelo as a visitor and enjoyed learning about the rich history of this beautiful island. Creating each drawing has given me the chance to sit and look closely, leading to an experience of reverence for the landscape. I invite you to do the same as you color and your mind begins to wander down paths through the marshes and forests.
Proceeds from sales of this coloring book will go to the Sapelo Island Cultural and Revitalization Society (SICARS). Their mission is to preserve and revitalize the Hog Hammock Community. For more information, visit: www.sapeloislandga.org
